24/7 Solar Power System Solar-Thermal Energy System

Term: August - October 2011
Program: Startup America: U.S. Small Business Administration
Entrepreneurial Mentor Corps.

ADI Solar Corp was formed in 2009 as an application company commercializing cost competitive 24/7 solar power. The company has patents pending in a unique reversible chemical thermal storage solution and a low cost side focusing helio-stat technology.

Challenge

The solar energy industry has always faced the challenge of the amount of space existing panels require complicated by the restrictions of the direction and duration of the sun’s rays.  Efficiency is a goal in most industries and the solar energy field is no exception.

Solution

ADI has developed a solar-thermal energy storage system system designed to save space, that utilizes a 360 degree tracking system to increase solar collection potential.  ADI incorporates a chemical thermal storage system that increases energy production by 20 times the capacity per kilogram of existing nitrate salt systems.  The patented ADI Stirling Engine on Demand provides an alternative that out performs turbines by 20 percent.  ADI’s proposal provides a solar energy system that addresses increased productivity in all phases of solar energy production and the durability to last 20 years.
