Press Release: March 2009 Call for Proposals Launched

NIREC Announces its Call for Proposals to Enable the Commercialization of Renewable Energy Technologies

Incline Village, Nevada - April 5, 2009 - The Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization (NIREC) has launched its Request for Proposals (RFP), awarding up to $100,000 for technology validation and technical proof of concept activities for renewable energy technologies. 

Proposals are selected competitively via a stringent review process conducted by NIREC's Technology Commercialization Advisory Board. Selected projects are expected to fully engage in the Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Program and aspire to a commercially viable solution.

The EIR program is the avenue through which NIREC integrates researchers, experienced entrepreneurs, business executives and sources of capital to identify and fund viable cost-effective renewable energy solutions and companies. CEO of NIREC, Dr. Christine Gulbranson, comments on the institute’s vision, “ With a specific focus on commercialization and value-added collaboration, NIREC will serve to bring new energy solutions to market while promoting economic development and green collar job creation.”
