May 24, 2010 (Incline Village, NV)--NIREC today announced the addition of Maureen Peckman to its Board of Trustees.
A 501(c)3 independent nonprofit organization, NIREC integrates researchers, experienced entrepreneurs, business executives, and financial capital to identify, fund and accelerate the development and deployment of clean energy solutions. With a focus on renewable energy, energy conservation and energy efficiency technologies, NIREC works with its research partners and early-stage companies nationwide to transform clean energy ideas into sustainable enterprises.
“We are very pleased that Maureen accepted our invitation to join NIREC’s board,” said Ian Rogoff, chairman of NIREC’s Board of Trustees. “Her operations and development experience are a natural fit with NIREC’s mission and her commitment to a better world and a stronger Nevada align with our vision for the state.”
Maureen has led Cleveland Clinic Nevada as chief emerging business officer since 2010, where she coordinates future Nevada and western U.S. expansion, development and partnership opportunities. Cleveland Clinic established a presence in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2009 after Maureen, as the CEO of Keep Memory Alive (KMA), led the $100 million acquisition of the organization. It is now the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its support organization KMA.
She joined KMA as chief operating officer in 2007, as the organization began an $80 million construction project. Within the following two years, Maureen was elevated to CEO and built an internal operations team that enabled construction and future medical operating requirements to be met.
Maureen leads the community-based Council for a Better Nevada, an organization that engages private, public and nonprofit resources to positively impact issues of critical community interest in the state. She is an advisory member of the O’Connor Judicial Selection Initiative and, since 2003, she has served on the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security. Maureen is the chairman of the Chairman’s Council for Conservation International and the Nevada Community Foundation; and she serves on the Agassi Charter Academy school board and the Agassi Foundation for Education Advisory Board.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science from George Washington.
